Lynnette Barse - Rapid City

LPC, QMHP
Approved provider for many insurance companies.

I graduated from Emporia State University in Kansas with my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Art Therapy. I received my Master of Science in Clinical Psychology in 1988. After completing my internship at the community mental health center in Emporia, KS and a job working with special needs adults, I accepted a position as an out-patient counselor at West River Mental Health Center; now known as Behavior Management Systems (BMS). I have been with BMS since 1988.

During my 27 years at BMS, I have had additional training and experience working with issues related to emotional and behavioral problems, sexual abuse, foster care, pathological gambling, play therapy, women’s issues, couples and family counseling. I especially enjoy working with children, teens, and women to help improve their quality of life and level of happiness. I work together with my clients to develop a counseling plan with realistic goals for which they can strive. Plans may include: coping skills, stress management, assertiveness skills, adjustment to life changes, working through trauma, decreasing depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral issues, relational concerns, and/or family problems.

Clients and their families often comment on the warm homey feeling of my office and the ease in conversing and working with me. Call me if you want to start working on making a happier you.

Lesley Anne Dzintars - Rapid City

LPC-MH, QMHP
Approved provider for many insurance companies.

I graduated from South Dakota State University in 2000. For fourteen years I was a therapist, clinical supervisor and Director of Behavior Management Systems’ Mainstream Services before I transitioned to my current position in our Counseling Services Division in 2014.

I have experience in many areas of mental health; to include mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse, major mental illnesses such as Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, relationship issues, personality disorders and enhancing general well-being. I have partnered with the legal system to provide services for offenders and I am certified in the Truthought Corrective Thinking Process.

My goal is to increase client awareness, look for opportunities to change old patterns and habits and ultimately create happier, more balanced lives. I believe mindfulness helps us live more consciously which is key to increased well-being.

I am also a Body Talk Practitioner in Training. Body Talk is a holistic approach which facilitates healing of the entire body/mind complex. This modality considers the whole person: mental, physical, energetic and spiritual aspects along with environmental and belief system influences. Body Talk enhances the individual’s own intrinsic ability to heal oneself.

I am married and am both a mother and a grandmother. I was born in England, raised in Martin, SD and have resided in Rapid City since 1985.

I earned my Master’s degree at the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley in 2009. Since graduation I have been working in the mental health field as an outpatient counselor. In 2012, I joined Behavior Management Systems in their Spearfish office.

I was trained at the University of Washington where I was able complete an internship under Dr. Marsha Linehan, the creator of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). It is a unique therapy that has been significantly researched and empirically validated to be effective for working with trauma and specifically PTSD.

I also am a generalist who works with all types of issues. I mainly work with teenagers – adults; including couples counseling. I especially enjoy helping women who have experienced trauma in their lives.

We relocated back to SD in 2012. Now my daughter is growing up closer to family and living in the small community I did as a child. I am happy to have come full circle and enjoy the small town atmosphere, support, and community awareness here in SD. Our family also has a dog, enjoys camping, reading, cooking, traveling, and most of all just spending time with family and friends.
